ABSOLUTELY CUCKOO CATS

CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS

Don’t fall in love with me yet We only recently met
True i’m in love with you but You might decide i’m a nut
Give me a week or two to Go absolutely cuckoo
And when you see your error Then you can flee in terror
Like everybody else does – I only tell you this ’cause
I’m easy to get rid of But not if you fall in love
Know now that i’m on the make And if you make a mistake
My heart wil certainly break – I’ll have to jump in a lake
And all my friends will blame you There’s no telling what they’ll do
It’s only fair to tell you I’m absolutely cuckoo

JACKIE'S CATS

JackieAndBenjamin

1 As you can see I have shared my living space with miscellaneous cats and kittens intermittently since babyhood (!) and continuously for more than 30 years – most of my adult life. We are now a family of five. You can find some of their stories under the section “Jackie’s cats”.

FOSTERING

HenryHugoHarryHarvey21July2013_sm

2 Fostering takes a lot of hard work but every day is rewarding. I get lots of things wrong of course, but this blog is about my experience and I’d love to hear yours. I’d considered fostering for several years before I actually took the plunge. If you have thought of doing the same, I hope this will give you some insight and encourage you.

ALL THINGS FELINE

NOTE:
I should say that although I foster for a UK charity (Cats Protection) and endeavour to follow their policies whilst caring for their cats and kittens, the views expressed in this blog are my personal opinions and not those of the charity.

3 Lots of things happen to us in the course of a week and I’m expecting this blog to cover everything from seeing the world through a cat’s eyes to health checking, from caring for an elderly pet to creating a cat-friendly home.

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT??

Storm's first day in new home

4 If you have adopted one of my foster cats, why not send me a photo for the Rogue’s Gallery, or I can set you up to post their story…

COULD YOU GIVE A CAT A HOME?

5 If you think you could give a cat a much needed home, you can find your local Cats Protection or RSPCA branches here.

VIDEO OF THE DAY

6 Simon’s Cat – some of my favourite videos, not yet set up to show a different one every day but will change these as often as I remember.

Hi Jackie

Hope you and all your cats are well.

Just to let you know we have decided to rename Storm/Ayla…..Cinders! Now we have got to know her a bit better, she suits this name rather than Ayla. She is settling in well though is still very hungry! (She will only eat Felix pouches still, and turned her nose up at the same flavour in jelly in Felix tins)! She seems very curious and quite fearless, and loves lots of stroking and fussing. She, and we are learning each others’ ways quickly! She is a very vocal cat and will “talk” a lot. 2nd vaccination this Wed morning. All the family are very fond of her, although she hasn’t yet been introduced to the 18 month year old who we take care of on many occasions. On those days, she is settled quietly in her own space with all her requirements.
How are the kittens? I hope they have all gone to good homes.
